España en el Corazon

Paris: Situationist international, 1964. (Print: 11 ¾ x 5 ¼ in. Frame: 14 ¼ in.) Offset print. Good condition.

This rare Situationist broadside was written by Raoul Vaneigem protesting the fascist regime of franco and its alliance with the catholic church of Spain. The publication consists of two black and white photographs of nude women altered with speech bubbles in Spanish, below which Vaneigem composed a short tract asserting the position of the situationists against Spanish totalitarianism.

The title of this broadside, España en el Corazon (or, Spain in Our Hearts), is a reference to a series of poems published in 1938 by Pablo Neruda in response to the Spanish Civil War.
