Movies featured during this time were four films by Fritz Lang, Quixote by Bruce Baillie, as well as a new year show by Harry Smith that included Early Abstractions, Heaven and Earth Magic, and Late Impositions.

The Filmmakers Cinematheque was started in New York City by Jonas Mekas in 1964 as a space for avant-garde and experimental cinema screenings and community gatherings. Runs at the cinematheque included films by Warhol, Jack Smith, Kenneth Anger, and more.
