Alternativa Zero: Tendencias Polemicas Na Arte Portugesa Contemporanea, 1977

(7 x 9 ¾ in.) Assemblage – Cardboard folded box with imprinted text on front and back covers. Some shelf-wear and light tearing to box, but interior is in very good condition. 

This assemblage publication was produced on the occasion of an exhibition of the same name at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Lisbon, Portugal. Organized by artist, director, and critic Ernesto de Sousa (b. 1921 – d. 1988), Alternativa Zero was a wide survey of Portuguese contemporary art, including such Portuguese artists as the sculpture Alberto Carneiro, Clara Maneres, Poet E.M. Melo e Castro, and many others. It also featured several performances by New York based avant-garde theatre troupe The Living Theatre.
